What Makes Us So Different?

Petting Petunia is not your typical Adult Toy store; we liken it to the difference between a greasy spoon diner and a quaint Italian restaurant on the rivers edge (if you don't care for Italian ... work with me here). The most obvious differences you will experience: quality, service, and atmosphere. Our number one priority is, and always will be, quality. Every product at Petunia has been hand selected, discussed and reviewed. If it is good enough to pass our "Pleasure Principals" evaluation, then it finds a home here.

We have considered placing some of those cute little "rate this product" boxes in our store and thought better of it. That type of system would taint the atmosphere that we have worked hard to create. We've seen reviews on other sites and at times, felt down right uncomfortable with some of the usernames, let alone the reviews. We were left wondering if they were writing a review or soliciting! TMI people, seriously. Sites like that became our reference point of what we did NOT want.

The Pleasure Principles Evaluation

We have implemented a rating system that we feel is superior to the "rate this product" box. Every toy has a five star rating initially based on its Pleasure Principal Evaluation. After you make a purchase, you will receive an email approximately two weeks after your order has arrived in which we ask that you rate the product and alert us to any issues (this is optional of course). If it is simply not up to a user's taste, as we all have different pleasure points, then it gets a reprieve; sometimes you have to test the water.

Items are reviewed and rated based on:

• design
• ease of use
• quality/craftsmanship
• volume & intensity of vibrations (if applicable)

If any product gets three negative reviews regarding its quality or design, the product is pulled from our store and is banished to Petunia's Hall of Shame. Forever! When it goes to the PHOS, there will be a "mug shot" as well as an explanation as to why that product was pulled. We have found that this system allows our customers the freedom to make suggestions and ask questions that they may have not have otherwise.

The Bad Apples ...

There are a handful of companies whose products we no longer bother to review; their toys never make it through the quality phase of our evaluation. You know that expression about the one bad apple? Well, they typically produce barrels of bad apples. We have given up on them until further notice. Here however, you can shop comfortably and with confidence.
